Registered Nurse - Infusion
The Registered Nurse in the Infusion Unit is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients receiving outpatient infusion therapy. This role requires expertise in administering various treatments, including chemotherapy, and managing patient conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous therapies and medications per physician's orders.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide timely interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
- Utilize technology and equipment such as EPIC, Omnicell, Ascom, glucometers, Alaris pumps, and elastomeric pumps in patient care.
- Participate in blood product administration and other essential nursing duties as required.
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Chemotherapy Certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience in outpatient infusion nursing.
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
