Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver the best in care and customer service.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum outcomes.
- Collaborate with the health care team, patient, and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age‑specific interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Accurately administer and document treatments and medications using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
- Identify educational needs of patient/family (caregiver) in a timely manner, incorporate into the plan of care, and document appropriately.
- Contribute to Carilion Clinic’s performance improvement activities.
- Demonstrate the role of patient advocate, protect patient’s rights, and provide psychological, social, and cultural support.
- Manage resources, establish priorities, and modify environment to meet patient care needs.
- Complete manager/director predetermined projects within the designated time frame and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduate of the school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
- AHA BLS-HCP required; may need to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP based on specific work unit.
- Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).
