Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Acute Care System Wide Float Pool. The float pool covers any adult acute care, telemetry, or transitional care unit located at the Edgewood, Grant County, Covington, Florence, Ft. Thomas, or Dearborn facilities. Assignments may also involve adult acute care or transitional care patients who are boarded in other departments, including the ED, PACU, or ICU. Weekly Hours/Shift: 36, 7A-7P.

Job Description

The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence‑based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care according to established ethical and cultural codes, nursing standards, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The nurse must demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues from all cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Education, Credentials, Licenses:
    • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN and licensed to practice in Kentucky or Indiana, or hold a state license letter of eligibility.
    • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state‑required courses. Focus of education promotes nurses’ ability to practice in the clinical area assigned.
  • Specialized Knowledge:
    • Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies, and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
    • Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
    • Able to critically think and problem‑solve in routine and emergency situations.
    • Has documented competencies for the assigned clinical area.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 18 months of clinical RN nursing experience.
    • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
