What You'll Do

• Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures to patients and significant others.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
• Develop individualized patient goals and establish care activities.
• Maintain constant vigilance over patient care to ensure safety precautions are followed.
• Correctly administer prescribed treatments and use necessary equipment for patient care.
• Provide emotional support to patients and significant others.
• Collaborate with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens.
• Administer and document medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided and document outcomes.
• Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

• Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience:
  • Prior exposure to an operating room setting through capstone/clinical hours, externship, or related work experience preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
  • Current BLS certification through The American Heart Association required.
