RN - ER Registered Nurse (Emergency Room) – Contract – In-Office, Clearlake, CA, United States. Night Shift: 1800 to 0630, 36 hours per week. ER and ICU experience preferred; may need floating. Auto Offer.

Total Bed Count: 12. Staffing Ratios: 4:1. Schedule Requirements: Call Required: No. Float Required: If oriented to another unit in need, may float. Weekend Coverage: Rotational weekends per MOU. Scheduling Type: Patterned schedule. Medication System: Pyxis. Documentation System: FirstNet. Communication: In person report. IV Teams: No. Lift Teams: No. Pharmacy: 8-5. Phlebotomy: No. Transportation: No. Unit Secretary: 0600/1800. Hospitalist: 24/7. Intensivist via phone 24/7.
Job Requirements
- At least one year Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12 months, or EMT and ED Tech with a minimum of 2 years experience and in good standing.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the State of California.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
- MICN desired to be completed within one year of hire.
- MICN, NRP, TNCC, and CEN encouraged and recommended.
- Basic computer skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills to provide quality care to patients of all ages (child, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
- Ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret relative to age‑specific needs.
- Understand principles of growth and development over the lifespan and provide age‑appropriate care, including intensive care setting.
- Handle emergency situations promptly, precisely, and professionally.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
- Meet competency, license, certification, and educational requirements as outlined by local administration and regulatory agencies (TJC, CMS).
- Current knowledge of medications and correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
- Meet charge nurse expectations and professional behavior and guest services expectations.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and correctly interpret results.
- Perform head‑to‑toe assessments and reassessments per policy; includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Prepare, administer, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids.
- Maintain professional appearance and environment while on hospital grounds; willing to perform other duties and innovations as assigned.
