Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Job Description
The competent Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, working towards long-range goals or plans while continuing to develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.
Responsibilities
- Practices in accordance with the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Delivers nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administers medications and treatments according to protocols; monitors side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, while identifying issues and resources.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only).
- TNCC certification is also preferred.
- Current RN License in state of Texas or compact state.
