A 500+ bed acute care hospital in Salem, VA is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse. The facility specializes in heart and vascular care through a designated Heart Center, as well as orthopedics and spine care, behavioral health, and cancer care.
The Role
As an Emergency Room RN, you will triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages presenting with conditions ranging from minor injuries to acute or critical illness. You will manage multiple cases simultaneously, continuously prioritizing patient needs based on acuity across the unit. Collaboration is central to this role — you will work closely with physicians, other departments, and patients and families to coordinate effective follow-up plans of care and necessary referrals. Timely, succinct, and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational policy is an essential part of daily practice.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required)
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
- Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA is required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
- Will consider 1 yr of RN ER experience in an acute care setting
- Will consider Med/Surg candidates to cross-train — nights shift only
Schedule
Full-time, with day, evening, night, and mixed shifts available on a rotating weekend basis.
Compensation
$32.33 - $48.50/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
