RN - ERThe RN delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The RN will supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. They will coordinate care with other disciplines. Utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment is essential.
The role includes collecting relevant data pertinent to the patients' health or situation. The RN will analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. They will develop a plan prescribing interventions to achieve outcomes. Implementing the plan and coordinating care delivery is required. Strategies to promote health and a safe environment must be employed. The RN evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. They identify outcomes for patients or patient situations. Collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare providers is key to providing care in a safe and humane environment. The RN will provide learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Direct health information will be provided to patients and families. Participation in discharge planning will ensure continuity of care. The RN must delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
