Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Job Summary

Provides nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP. Monitors patients during sedation, assists physicians during procedures, and ensures safe recovery and discharge.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of GI, endoscopy, or procedural nursing experience (Preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for endoscopic procedures, including pre-procedure assessment and education.
  • Administers and monitors conscious sedation per physician orders and hospital protocol.
  • Assists physicians during endoscopic procedures and manages specimen collection.
  • Monitors patients for procedure-related complications such as bleeding or perforation.
  • Provides post-procedure monitoring, recovery care, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintains and reprocesses endoscopy equipment per infection control standards.
