The Emergency Department is a 30-bed unit serving patients with a wide range of emergent and urgent medical needs. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 , allowing nurses to provide focused, safe, and efficient care in a dynamic environment.
As an ER RN, you'll work closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to rapidly assess patients, prioritize care, intervene during emergencies, and ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Perform comprehensive assessments and prioritize patient care based on acuity.
Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with emergency and urgent medical conditions.
Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, neurological status, and changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
Initiate and maintain IV access and perform appropriate emergency interventions.
Assist physicians with procedures and emergency interventions.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and discharge instructions.
Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR .
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Safely manage multiple patients in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Float to other appropriate areas as required by facility needs.
Required Qualifications
BLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS or ENPC certification
NIHSS certification
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience
Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
