Job Overview

Location: UCHealth Pikes Peak Reg Hospital, Woodland Park, CO.

Department: PPRH Emergency Room.

Work Schedule: Part Time, 48.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks).

Shift: Nights.

Pay: $35.29 - $54.71 / hour, depending on relevant experience.

Type: Onsite role; no hybrid or remote option.

Summary: Provides direct patient care at a proficient level, using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, aligned with the organization’s policies, values, and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively cares for a broad range of patient populations and conditions and prioritizes care in a fast‑paced clinical Emergency Department environment, emphasizing high‑quality, safe patient care while maintaining a focus on department throughput and efficiency.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to a multidisciplinary care team; collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances; delegates patient care to ancillary personnel and may precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision; must handle fast‑paced environments and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing‑approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years’ experience; preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. State licensure as an RN required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider credential (American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer) with card in‑hand before start date; card must be current through sixty days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course or PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses within 1 year of hire.
  • Six months of nursing (RN) experience.
