Job Summary
Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
- Acute care facility experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Facility Specific License/Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Department Specific License/Certifications
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): Required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS): Required
Essential Functions
- Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation, analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues, develops and implements a plan of care to reach outcomes, and evaluates progress.
- Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to provide patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment, offers learning opportunities, and provides health information.
- Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
