Job Responsibilities
- Provide patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct, coordinate and deliver nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes.
- Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
- Assess clinical needs of patients and update patient records as needed.
- Demonstrate responsible decision‑making in planning, providing, and delegating care.
- Communicate effectively with peers, staff, physicians and administration; establish two‑way communication.
- Follow the appropriate chain of command for issues that may compromise patient care.
- Assist physicians, nurse practitioners and other staff in coordinating patient care and serve as primary liaison.
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and cleanliness.
- Prepare list of medical supplies needed.
- Administer prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Educate patients/families about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and health maintenance.
- Use the clinic's patient data management system to maintain accurate records and input NHS interface.
- Screen patients to ensure accurate charting prior to appointments.
- Complete paperwork accurately, completely and timely.
- Safely administer medications using the 5 rights and document medication profiles.
- Demonstrate population‑appropriate care and skill sets for all patient populations.
- Perform prescribed or ordered treatments accurately and without error.
- Comply with professional standards of practice and expected standards of care.
- Know and adhere to the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.
- Communicate pertinent data concerning client status and changes in care plan with health team.
- Under minimum direction manage assessment, documentation, and disposition of all designated incoming ICD and emergency telephone calls.
- Collect improvement performance data as directed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 30 days of hire.
- Clinic Competency Assessment completed annually.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Preferred: 1 year clinic experience.
