RN Clinical - Arcadia Multispec Cl A1

Full Time 8‑hour days (Non‑Exempt, Non‑Union). Arcadia, CA.

As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients. The RN serves as a patient advocate, coordinates care across the healthcare continuum, facilitates appointments with specialists and support services, provides patient and family education, and maintains communication with medical, clinical, and support staff. The RN works with physicians, advanced practice providers, ambulatory staff, hospital departments, and outpatient services to schedule diagnostic and treatment procedures and physician appointments. The RN maintains, develops, and coordinates multidisciplinary prospective treatment conferences, supports continuing education, and leads in patient care, system support, research, education, and professional leadership.

Essential Duties

  • Follows policies and procedures: demonstrates ability to access online manuals and references.
  • Translates scientific knowledge into practical application using the nursing process.
  • Assessment: completes nursing assessment and screening upon patient encounter via telephone or in clinic.
  • Diagnosis: interprets assessment information and formulates nursing diagnosis.
  • Plan: maintains problem list, medication list, and allergies list when indicated.
  • Intervention: administers medications as ordered, completes re‑assessments as indicated, performs patient‑care procedures correctly per policy, delegates tasks according to scope, and acts as patient advocate.
  • Documentation: completes accurate documentation on all encounters.
  • Education: provides patient and family education as needed based on diagnosis or treatment plan.
  • Equipment: maintains blood‑pressure machine, identifies defects, and notifies appropriate department.
  • Communication: interacts effectively with the healthcare team, triages phone calls, and uses e‑mail and SBAR.
  • Organization: manages time effectively, prioritises responsibilities, and takes meal breaks without overtime.
  • Observes regulatory agency requirements: National Patient Safety Goals, identification protocols, abbreviation usage, procedural time‑out, communication standards, medication reconciliation, hazardous waste, biohazard, sharps, HIPAA, OSHA, JCAHO compliance, and continuous survey readiness.
  • Quality measures: participates in data collection and process improvements.
  • Professional development: attends hospital/nursing activities, relief charge nursing, committees, journal club, workshops, and assists in patient‑education material updates.
  • Accepts and completes additional duties as assigned.
  • Bonus points: professional certification, assessment of patient knowledge, treatment planning with patient, assistance with cardiac diagnostics in the Non‑Invasive Cardiology Lab, patient education regarding procedures, accurate documentation of procedures, and other related duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN); grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a registered nurse.
  • Excellent communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to perform duties such as whole blood collection and apheresis in accordance with policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience in an ambulatory setting.
  • One year experience in a pediatric care setting.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Nurse – RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – must be obtained within 30 days if not already held.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

Hourly rate: $53.00 – $87.45.
