RN (CASUAL) (Urgent Care, Narcoossee Road)

Nemours is seeking an RN (Urgent Care – Narcoossee) CASUAL to join our team in Orlando, Florida. Nemours pediatric urgent care centers provide a kid-friendly, family‑centered experience for families seeking urgent care services at night and on weekends. With three centers conveniently located in the greater Orlando area, we deliver exceptional Nemours care to families where – and when – they need it most.

Responsibilities

• Determine and prioritize patients’ nursing care needs and maintain responsibility for directing aspects of care delegated to patient care team members.
• Initiate, implement, and evaluate standards of care based on identified patients.
• Consistently display empathy, sensitivity, and insight and intervene effectively in stressful situations.
• Perform triage and discharge procedures.
• Obtain and perform laboratory tests on patient specimens.
• Perform intravenous, intramuscular, venipunctures, and catheterizations per protocol and provider order.
• Administer medications.
• Assist with splinting and other procedures.
• Follow orders per provider and company protocol in a timely, professional, courteous, competent, and accurate manner.
• Prioritize patients based on acuity.
• Discharge patient/family, providing written and verbal instructions and ensuring understanding by parent/guardian/patient.
• Involve self or provider for problems arising on shift with patients or parents.
• Advocate on behalf of patients/families and personnel, promoting adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Act as a resource for patients and families working toward the resolution of ethical issues. Initiate ethics consult when appropriate.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with nursing leaders and inter‑professionals within the hospital system.
• Serve as a mentor, coach, or preceptor based on clinic needs.
• Identify educational needs and facilitate formal and informal learning for patients, families, associates, and the community.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum one year of experience required.
• Three years of pediatric experience in a specialty area preferred.
• Current Florida or multi‑state nursing license in good standing.
• American Heart Association PALS certification required.
• Travel required to other clinic locations.
