Registered Nurse – Mixed Cardiac/Tele and Neuro/Stroke Unit
Location
Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus
Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 – $55.80. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Schedule
Part‑time: 24 hours per week. Hours: 7 pm – 7:30 am (4–5 weekends in a 6‑week period) and rotating holiday track.
What You Will Do
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
- Apply knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients and respond appropriately.
- Provide virtual and bedside nursing to assigned patients, including monitoring and caring for patients.
- Communicate patient care information to the bedside RN.
- Act as a knowledge resource to the bedside RN.
- Provide medication reconciliation, complete procedure checklists, perform second nurse sign‑off for meds/skin checks, contact families, answer questions for the patient and/or family, etc.
- Perform patient/family education and discharge planning.
- Document patient interactions via EPIC.
What You Will Need
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
- If Associate Degree is the highest degree, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of the position start date (effective September 1, 2021) (current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered).
- OR RN Diploma if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
- CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of start date.
- Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within six months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
- One year of bedside inpatient nursing experience in an acute care setting (highly preferred).
