RN BaylorThe RN Baylor provides skilled nursing care to hospice patients during weekends and one weekday, ensuring comprehensive assessment, symptom management, treatment, and coordination of care. The nurse collaborates with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support end-of-life care needs.

The role includes emotional support, patient education, and compliance with care protocols in a variety of care settings. Work hours include every Saturday and Sunday from 8am-8pm and one weekday (either Monday or Friday) from 830a-5p, based on organizational needs.Essential FunctionsPerform skilled nursing assessments and interventions in accordance with care plans and physician orders.Provide education to patients and caregivers on disease progression and end-of-life expectations.Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners to manage symptoms and adjust care plans.Maintain real-time communication with supervisors and clinical teams, reporting patient status changes and visit outcomes.Document all care encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and accurate manner.Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings and provide end-of-shift reports as needed.Maintain professional standards of nursing, adhere to ethical conduct, and pursue ongoing education.Participate in agency quality assurance activities and comply with compliance protocols.Perform other related duties as assigned.Knowledge and Critical SkillsStrong assessment and symptom management skillsEffective communication and emotional intelligenceProficiency in documentation and use of EMRsAbility to function effectively in emergencies and independently solve problemsFamiliarity with hospice care principles and interdisciplinary collaborationExperienceMinimum of two (2) years of experience in acute care, oncology, home health, or hospice settings preferredLicense / CertificationCurrent Registered Nurse license in the State of FloridaCurrent CPR certificationValid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation with an acceptable driving recordEducationDegree from a diploma nursing program, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in nursingOther RequirementsMedical clearance for communicable diseases before patient contactCurrent immunizations, including but not limited to TB, Hepatitis, and FluParticipation in internal training and continuing education programsAdherence to the American Nurses Association professional standards and the Nurse Practice ActThe knowledge, skills and abilities listed above are typically acquired through the levels of education and experience listed.
