Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Medical-Surgical setting.
Provides nursing care through physical and mental assessments, laboratorytesting, treatment plans and therapeutic treatments.
Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental,social and behavioral.
Performs crisis intervention.
Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate aboutchanges in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnosticstudies and symptomatology.
Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responseto treatment.
Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departmentswith adequate supervision.
Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuousquality improvement (CQI) activities.
Qualifications
Must be flexible, adapt to changing workloads, work well with staff ondifferent units.
