  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Medical-Surgical setting.
  • Provides nursing care through physical and mental assessments, laboratorytesting, treatment plans and therapeutic treatments.
  • Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental,social and behavioral.
  • Performs crisis intervention.
  • Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate aboutchanges in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnosticstudies and symptomatology.
  • Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responseto treatment.
  • Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departmentswith adequate supervision.
  • Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuousquality improvement (CQI) activities.

Qualifications

  • Must be flexible, adapt to changing workloads, work well with staff ondifferent units.
  • CPR, ACLS preferred
  • Prefer at least 1 year of Med Surg experience.
