Role Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care - Ortho Surgical provides high-quality, safe, and individualized patient care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team. They ensure care delivery aligns with evidence-based standards, clinical practice models, and organizational policies, while upholding the Nursing Code of Ethics and Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using critical thinking and evidence-based practices.
- Deliver patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations, respecting cultural differences and involving patients and families in care planning.
- Coordinate and document safe, quality care through effective communication and teamwork, supporting performance improvement and shared governance initiatives.
- Serve as preceptor or mentor to foster professional development and maintain a qualified workforce.
- Promote research, evidence-based practice, and participation in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Develop protocols in collaboration with the care team to optimize resource use and reduce adverse events.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelors preferred.
- Current RN licensure (single-state or multi-state Compact) and BLS certification required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills; proficiency with technology and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to respond effectively in fast-paced environments and emergencies.
