Job Overview
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Management (EHSRM), the Risk and Safety Intelligence Officer serves as the primary technical lead for the EHSRM unit's data lifecycle and organizational insight functions.
The incumbent functions with a high degree of autonomy to coordinate and administer complex systems for managing information, including UC systemwide platforms such as RSS, RDMS, iVOS, and internal HR and financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Independently determine which data sets to analyze to provide strategic insights into divisional performance and the intersections between organizational losses.
- Lead analytical studies, including SWOT and GAP analyses, to identify root causes of safety and loss incidents and formulate data‑driven recommendations for the improvement of EH&S and Risk Management programs.
- Design new safety, compliance, and loss mitigation/prevention metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Create advanced business intelligence tools, such as pivot tables and dashboards.
- Ensure the long‑term accuracy and integrity of data used for campus‑wide risk mitigation and strategic decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position; no visa sponsorship available.
- Education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs are considered in salary offers.
- Commitment to comply with all applicable University policies and collective bargaining agreements.
Compensation
The full salary range for the Risk and Safety Intelligence Officer is $68,500 - $121,900 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is from $68,500–$95,200 annually. Salary offers are based on education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
