RHIT/RHIA Certified Auditor

Leading audits of hospital billing and coding practices, the full-time remote Inpatient Hospital Auditor II will perform desk audits, develop audit protocols, and provide guidance on ICD10-CM, ICD10-PCS, and DRG assignment, while also training new staff and compiling audit statistics. Key responsibilities Identifies billing discrepancies and coordinates referrals for improper claim payments Compiles and presents audit statistics to accounts and regulatory agencies Reviews and updates audit processes to align with clinical data innovations and cost containment initiatives Required qualifications High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred Minimum of 3 years experience in a medical records department of an acute care hospital or health care facility RHIT/RHIA certification or RN with CCS required Experience with DRG validation and ICD-10-CM training Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid prospective payment system regulations
