Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Rheumatologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx (NCB). Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center; NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospitals are affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine and maintain academic partnerships in emergency medicine, trauma, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women's health. NYC Health + Hospitals is the nation’s largest municipal healthcare delivery system, delivering high-quality care to all New Yorkers with a focus on equity.

Opportunity details and responsibilities below describe a full-time clinical educator role within the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, supervision of learners, and growth plans for rheumatology services.

Responsibilities

  • The practice includes both inpatient and outpatient care and involves clinical supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Provide clinical education and supervision within the Division of Rheumatology.
  • Participate in clinics such as Lupus Clinics, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, and Arthritis Clinics.
  • Support the Jacobi inpatient service (average 7 consults per day) and North Central Bronx inpatient service (3–5 consults per day).
  • Contribute to expansion plans to four full-time Rheumatologists and participate in teaching sites for fellowships under the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore program.
  • Collaborate with an academic medical system that serves approximately 1,700 unique patients across two hospitals.

Qualifications

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
  • Active New York State medical license.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Ultrasound training preferred, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $247,000 (Board Eligible) or $252,000 (Board Certified) based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • Total compensation package estimated at $367,220 (Board Eligible) or $372,720 (Board Certified), including base salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors.
    • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours per week: $55,520.
    • Projected bonus up to $40,000 based on quality and productivity targets.
    • 401(k) company contributions: 3% immediately; after one year, 7% total company contribution (no employee match required).
  • Annual CME reimbursement and generous PTO (vacation, sick, holidays, CME days).
  • Medical, prescription, and dental coverage; life insurance and AD&D coverage at no cost (2x salary up to $300,000).
  • Additional employee-paid voluntary life and AD&D coverage available for you and your family.
  • Loan forgiveness programs may apply; physician position may be eligible for the High Needs Specialty Loan Repayment Program (HNSLRP).
