We do so byproviding superior, compassionate and innovative clinical care toour patients and to conduct and disseminate clinical, research andscholarship, with a focus on the care of patients and education offuture clinicians.

Chief Purpose of this Position |

We are seeking aRheumatologist for a clinician faculty position within the Divisionof Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Virginia CommonwealthUniversity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical |

Will provide exemplary care in the area ofRheumatology in outpatient ambulatory clinics and on consultservices.

Teaching |

This position will be actively involved in theeducation and training of the Rheumatology fellows.

• Provide teaching service to learners, including medicalstudents, interns and residents
• Use contemporary adult learning methods to promoteevidence-based practice
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills and continually developas a teacher for learners at all levels
• Complete required evaluations of learners in a timely manner –including but not limited to written and verbal feedback
• Participate in other learning activities such as foundations ofclinical medicine, morning report, core conference, and otherformal educational programs for undergraduate and post-graduatelearners
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a faculty at VCU

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated both scholarly and clinical abilities throughpatient care, teaching and clinical research
• Board certified in Rheumatology and in Internal Medicine
