nRF Test Engineer

nPosition Overview
nWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented RF Test Engineer to join our wireless compliance testing team. In this role, you will support RF testing activities for intentional and unintentional radiators intended for global markets including North America, Europe, and Japan.
nThe ideal candidate will have hands-on experience or academic exposure to RF testing methodologies, wireless communication systems, and regulatory compliance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise across commercial, automotive, military, rail, marine, and wireless certification programs.
nRoles and Responsibilities
nPerform RF testing for intentional and unintentional radiators used in North America, Japan, and Europe.
nConduct testing on wireless transmitters used for CMS, GMRS, CBRS, and U-NII services.
nExecute RF testing in accordance with:
nETSI
nFCC
nICES
nEN
nOperate RF and test equipment including:
nSpectrum analyzers
nSignal generators
nEMI receivers
nOscilloscopes
nAntennas
nPower meters
nNetwork analyzers
nMaintain accurate electronic documents and perform detailed data collation.
nPrepare comprehensive test plans, procedures, and test reports.
nGenerate test documentation including:
nPhotographs
nMeasurement uncertainty calculations
nTest methodologies
nCompliance summaries
nParticipate in the development and evaluation of test equipment and testing methodologies.
nSupport customers before and during RF test programs.
nValidate customer requirements, including occasional on-site visits when necessary.
nProvide technical input to support quotation generation and customer proposals.
nTroubleshoot RF test failures and support corrective actions.
nDevelop specialist expertise in areas such as rail, marine, military, automotive, or wireless radio testing.
nProvide training and technical guidance to team members as needed.
nParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
nEnsure all work is performed in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 Quality System requirements.
nEssential Qualifications
nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline; or equivalent technical diploma.
nMinimum 1 year of experience in RF testing, wireless testing, or product certification.
nBasic understanding of EMC, EMI, and RF principles and measurement techniques.
nFamiliarity with wireless communication technologies and standards.
nStrong organizational skills with attention to quality and accuracy.
nAbility to manage multiple testing activities while preparing technical reports.
nComfortable interacting with customers and cross-functional teams.
nStrong written and verbal communication skills.
nGood commercial and customer-service awareness.
nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
nFlexibility to work off-shift when project requirements demand.
nPreferred Qualifications
nExperience with EMC testing for automotive equipment.
nWorking knowledge of EMC/EMI/RF testing requirements and accreditation standards.
nFamiliarity with MIL-STD, CISPR, IEC, FCC, ETSI, and automotive EMC standards.
nExperience with RF measurement and automated test systems.
nExposure to RF troubleshooting and wireless transmitter testing.
nExperience with Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or automated test scripting is a plus.
nKnowledge of OTA (Over-the-Air) testing and antenna measurements.
nUnderstanding of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements and quality systems.
nWorking Environment / Physical Requirements
nTravel is generally limited to the local area; however, a valid driver's license is required for occasional travel.
nPhysical activities may include occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching with hands and arms.
nRegular activities include sitting, speaking, hearing, and operating technical equipment.
nFrequent communication via phone, email, and collaboration tools is expected.
nMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
nWork environment noise level is moderate and consistent with laboratory settings.
