Revenue Integrity Chargemaster Analyst -

Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Full‑Time | Remote (Some location restrictions apply)

An established healthcare organization is seeking a Revenue Integrity Chargemaster Analyst to support the integrity of the revenue capture system and ensure accurate, compliant charge processes. This role plays a vital part in the organization’s financial health through maintenance of the chargemaster (CDM), auditing, and collaboration with clinical and revenue cycle teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the chargemaster (CDM) including CPT, HCPCS, pricing, and revenue codes.
  • Review, approve, and build new charges; ensure integration across related systems.
  • Update CDM annually (AMA CPT) and quarterly (CMS HCPCS).
  • Serve as primary liaison to clinical departments for coding updates and charge‑related changes.
  • Conduct prospective chart audits to ensure billing accuracy and compliant charge capture.
  • Oversee billing edits including CCI and MUE; partner with departments to reduce pre‑bill edits.
  • Track edit volumes and assist departments with resolving recurring issues.
  • Participate in compliance investigations, corrective action plans, and follow‑up reviews.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Information Management, Professional Billing, and other revenue cycle teams.
  • Provide education on coding, charge creation, and billing guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within CDM use, charge reconciliation, and workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in organizational projects, price increases, and system upgrades.
  • Support development and execution of the annual Revenue Integrity Workplan.
  • Maintain understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing regulations.
  • Ensure accurate fee schedules and assist with annual pricing updates.

Qualifications

  • Coding credential: CPC, COC, CCS, CCA, or CCS-P (Candidates may obtain certification within 6 months of hire).
  • 3+ years of CDM experience.
  • Epic Charge Capture certification required within one year.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • EPIC experience.
  • Clinical discipline background.
  • PB and HB coding experience.
  • Experience in academic or complex healthcare environments.
  • Analytical, forward‑thinking, and solutions‑oriented.
  • Strong communicator across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Tech‑savvy and comfortable with EMR systems.
  • Independent, self‑motivated, and detail‑driven.

Role Logistics

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday; flexible start between 7 AM–9 AM.
  • Work Model: Primarily remote.
  • Onsite for the first day of orientation if located in the Chicagoland area.
  • Quarterly in‑person department meetings for local candidates.
  • Fully remote for candidates outside the region.
  • Equipment: Provided.
  • Training: Hands‑on, ongoing training with department leadership, supported by training videos and team resources.
  • Location Restrictions: Not eligible for candidates residing in CA, CO, HI, MD, MN, MA, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, WA.

Day‑to‑Day

  • Manage CCI edits and work queues; enhance team processes.
  • Oversee charge creation, testing, and validation.
  • Ensure CDM accuracy and annual code updates.
  • Perform charge reconciliation reviews and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Information Management, Professional Billing, and reimbursement teams.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure correct charge capture.

Hours: 8 hour shift, consistent between 7 AM and 7 PM.
