Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Comprehensive Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Retina to join its established Eye Center and Optical team. This role offers the opportunity to provide world-class eye care within the largest rural health system in the US, focusing on ocular and visual disorders. The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative environment alongside optometrists and other fellowship-trained ophthalmologists.

Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination
- Admit patients (if applicable to setting)
- Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide nonsurgical and surgical procedures on patients of all ages with ocular and visual disorders, including those of the eye and its component structures, the eyelids, the orbit, and the visual pathways
Compensation
- Compensation floor of $750,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs
- $200,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years (subject to a contractual agreement specifying all details)

Shift & Schedule
- Work 4.5 days per week
- Call schedule would be 1:4
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Fellowship training in Retina
- Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated Ophthalmology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
- Demonstrate at least 50 Ophthalmology procedures in the last 12 months (for applicants not applying directly out of residency)
