Restaurant Host

MUST HAVE SATURDAY morning & afternoon, SUNDAY morning & afternoon, and MONDAY availability.  
Role Overview

The Host is the first and last impression of Pizza Studio Tamaki NY. We are looking for a warm, composed, and organized individual to serve as the face of our dining room — welcoming guests, managing the flow of the floor, and setting the tone for every experience that follows. This role requires genuine hospitality instincts, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay graceful under pressure during high-volume service. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a memorable arrival for every guest who walks through our door.

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming first impression
• Manage reservations and the waitlist using the reservation system (Resy), keeping accurate wait times and table status
• Seat guests thoughtfully, balancing the flow of the dining room and supporting an even distribution of covers across the floor
• Communicate effectively with servers and management regarding table turns, special requests, and large party coordination
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to reservation inquiries with professionalism and care
• Manage walk-in guests and waitlist situations with transparency, warmth, and clear communication
• Accommodate special requests and VIP or event arrivals with discretion and attention to detail
• Maintain the entrance, host stand, and menus — ensuring the front of the restaurant is clean, organized, and presentation-ready at all times
• Assist with coat check and any other front-of-house guest needs as required
• Support the dining room team during service as needed, including running menus and communicating table readiness
• Assist with opening and closing host stand duties, including resetting the floor plan and printing reservation sheets
• Uphold the standards and spirit of the PST guest experience in every guest interaction

Required

• Prior experience in a host, reception, or guest-facing hospitality role (3+ year preferred)
• Exceptional interpersonal skills — warm, confident, and calm under pressure
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Experience with reservation management platforms; Resy experience strongly preferred
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with a chef-driven dining concept
