Principal, Real Restaurant Solutions, Inc.

I work with growing restaurant groups here in San Diego. You are welcome to check out the list on my website, . Since we are growing, we need strong leaders. There is a common trait amongst managers that grow and get promoted — they can rally a crew, understand the basic fundamentals of proper service, and are dedicated to their craft. They are kind but clear, serious about the expectations they set, and know how to deliver through accountability.

Job Overview

We are seeking a professional General Manager who can operate a high‑profile, fine‑dining restaurant with high volume. The role will involve leading three units after a 90‑day cultural adjustment period. You’ll build community, drive the top and bottom line, and continue to learn while sweating the details. This is a unique opportunity to run a business beyond a typical corporate GM role and to have an ownership mentality that may lead to your own place.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate fine‑dining units and maintain high service standards. • Lead and coach the crew to meet operational consistency. • Oversee P&L and financial discipline while preserving hospitality. • Build a self‑sustaining leadership engine. • Foster credibility and trust throughout the team.

The 5 Non‑Negotiable Leadership Attributes

  • 1. Command of the Room — calm, natural authority that anchors the operation.
  • 2. Relentless Standards Keeper — notice drift early and correct immediately; protect the brand.
  • 3. Coach Who Builds Leaders — teach judgment, give direct and timely feedback, and empower people to improve.
  • 4. Operationally Fluent Financial Thinker — understand P&L as a result of daily decisions, not a report to review later.
  • 5. Deep Hospitality Instinct — understand ceremony, restraint, and intention; know when to touch, comp, or let the room speak.

The 5 Outcomes of Hiring the Right General Manager

  • 1. Operational Consistency — guest experience dependable across shifts and seasons.
  • 2. A Self‑Sustaining Leadership Engine — strong decisions made without escalation.
  • 3. Financial Discipline Without Eroding Hospitality — intentional labor, strategic comps, controlled waste; margins improve.
  • 4. Credibility and Trust With the Team — standards enforced evenly, clear expectations, fair feedback.

Requirements

Please do not apply if you’re not sure or able to pull off these 10 requirements. You must come with General Manager experience. If you have these traits and these concepts really resonate with you, answer the following questions in your message:

  • What happened that made you look in Indeed for your next gig? What exactly happened? What was your takeaway?
  • What was the last time you missed a professional goal? What exactly happened? What was your takeaway?
  • What exact restaurant experience do you have that would help you be ready for this position?
  • What would be the name of your autobiography?
