Sampson Regional Medical Center has an opportunity for a Respiratory Therapy student to join the Cardiopulmonary Department!
Description
The Respiratory Therapy Extern shall function under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist. The work will occur while the student pursues a course of study to meet licensure requirements, and there will be coordination between the training program and the work site. Until a student demonstrates competency in a procedure, that procedure is to be performed under direct supervision.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program or recently graduated from a Respiratory Therapy program and eligible to be licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board.
- Must have completed a basic respiratory skills course at an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Student may not remain in this RCA status more than a total of 12 months or until they are eligible to be licensed by the Board, whichever occurs first.
- Must currently hold CPR certification.
Hours
Hours of work will follow that of the Respiratory Therapist schedule. Respiratory Therapists are scheduled to work either 6:45am - 7:00pm or 6:45pm - 7:00am. Weekends, holidays, day shift and night shift will be required, as needed.
