Position Summaryn The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services to residents with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions, including those requiring mechanical ventilation.n This role includes administering treatments, managing ventilator-dependent patients, monitoring patient conditions, and responding to respiratory emergencies.n The Respiratory Therapist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, high-quality care in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.n Essential Job Functionsn Clinical Respiratory Care:n - Evaluate and manage patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditionsn - Administer prescribed respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, and chest physiotherapyn - Perform routine and emergency tracheostomy caren - Monitor and adjust ventilator settingsn - Participate in ventilator weaning protocolsn - Respond to respiratory emergencies and perform CPR as needednn Patient Care & Coordination:n - Educate patients and families on respiratory caren - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teamsn - Participate in physician roundsnn Documentation & Compliance:n - Document patient care and maintain compliance with regulationsn - Complete shift handoff reportsnn Equipment & Inventory Management:n - Maintain respiratory equipment and monitor suppliesnn Team Collaboration:n - Communicate with healthcare teams and leadershipn - Perform additional duties as assignedn Qualificationsn Education & Licensure:n - Current Respiratory Therapy licensen - RRT or CRT credentialn Certifications:n - BLS requiredn - ACLS preferredn Experience & Skills:n - Experience with ventilator patients preferredn - Strong clinical and communication skillsn Work Environment & Physical Requirementsn - Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 poundsn - Work in clinical healthcare environmentsn Additional Informationn This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for following OSHA guidelines and standard universal precautions.n Working Conditionsn Hours are based on resident and community needs. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.n If assigned to care for individuals on life-support where in-house coverage is required by law, the Respiratory Therapist must make arrangements to report to work during inclement weather.
