nPosition Overview:
nThis is a limited-term position with an anticipated duration of approximately six months.
nPerforms therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities. Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department.

nEDUCATION:
nOther: Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (may be evidenced by RCP/RRT/CRT license)
nCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
nCA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
nRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
nBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required
nNeonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required
nAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
nPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
nTYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
n2 years of recent relevant experience.
nSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
nKnowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
nAbility to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
nCapable of performing routine or emergency respiratory care as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
nPossess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
nWell-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
nGeneral knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.
nPrioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
nWork independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
nIdentify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.

nPay Range is $58.70 to $82.17 / hour
nThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
