New Horizons in Autism (NHIA) is seeking an experienced Residential Manager to lead one of our community residences supporting adults with autism and developmental disabilities. Position Summary


Reporting to the Residential Coordinator, the Residential Manager oversees the daily operations of a community residence, supervises residential staff, and ensures high-quality care and compliance with agency and state standards.


This is a full-time, exempt position requiring flexibility to meet the needs of the residence beyond a traditional Monday–Friday schedule.


Responsibilities



  • Oversee daily residential operations and ensure quality services

  • Hire, train, supervise, and support residential staff

  • Create staff schedules and maintain appropriate coverage

  • Provide direct support, including personal care, transportation, medication oversight, and daily living assistance

  • Support residents in achieving Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals

  • Coordinate ISP meetings and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams

  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with Medicaid, DDD, and agency requirements

  • Promote community inclusion and meaningful activities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and operational needs


Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred

  • At least two years of experience supporting individuals with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities

  • At least two years of supervisory experience

  • Residential services and Therap experience preferred

  • Valid New Jersey driver's license (or ability to obtain one within three months)

  • Must meet all employment requirements, including background checks, drug screening, physical exam, and required DDD training
