Resident InspectorThe Resident Inspector will be a key member of the Bryant Construction Management Team in our Lincoln, RI office, where he/she will inspect job sites for a wide range of public and private sector clients, to enable their successful completion. Work will be done in support of our multi-disciplinary Survey, Engineering (Site/Civil, Structural and Traffic) and Construction Management firm.The Resident Inspector will perform on-site inspection of water/storm water, and/or roadway/civil-site work jobs. Work is carried out with considerable independence and requires thorough knowledge of appropriate construction practices and codes.Responsibilities:Coordinates work with the contractorObserves all phases of construction activities for compliance with design documents and client standardsDocuments work as performedReviews contractor requisitions for paymentPrepares daily reports and attends progress meetingsManages quality and safety of projects and ensures schedules are metRequired Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions based on engineering design criteriaFamiliarity with trench dewatering, backfilling and compaction of utility trenches and pavement/surface restorationGood written and oral communication skillsAbility to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents for desired infrastructure rehabilitation, replacement and upgradesDetail orientedProblem solverStrong interpersonal skills.
Able to build and maintain strong relationships with contractor and staffSolid project management and organizational skillsMust be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environmentDesire to work in a team environmentObserves and enforces company and client safety requirementsMust have a valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record checkAbility to pass a drug testEducation and/or Experience:High School diploma or equivalentNICET Certification5+ years of related experience with water and sewer construction projectsOpportunities for different levels of experienceOSHA 10-hour Training and Confined Space Entry certification beneficial.
