Your Role as a Resident in Counseling

As a Resident in Counseling at Compass, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and diagnostic assessments in collaboration with a supervising LPC
  • Provide outpatient counseling services to children, adolescents, and families with a wide range of diagnoses
  • Deliver intensive in-home and community stabilization services, including crisis intervention, skills restoration, treatment planning, and family therapy
  • Coordinate care with multiple systems of support and engage with community partners throughout Virginia
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of licensed professionals
Training & Supervision

Residents in Counseling will:

  • Participate in structured new hire and ongoing clinical trainings
  • Take part in individual and group supervision that integrates evidence-based therapeutic strategies
  • Use video-based supervision to enhance skill development, clinical reflection, and case conceptualization
  • Build professional identity within a supportive, mission-driven organization
Qualifications Required:

Master's Degree in Counseling with goal of becoming licensed (LPC-track)

Valid driver's license and 1+ years of licensed driving experience

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $35–$40 per hour
