Job Summary

As a Resident District Manager (RDM) you will manage a large multi‑unit dining account, serving as the client point of contact, leading the account team, and directing operations to meet financial and operational objectives, while nurturing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team at a large account, delivering top‑notch service to the client, students, and community.
  • Drive team performance toward profitability, safety, employee engagement, and other key performance indicators.
  • Serve on the district leadership team and collaborate with peers to share best practices, mitigate risks, champion diversity, and build community.
  • Make decisions that consider risk/reward and short/long‑term impacts, soliciting input from team and partners.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, education, safety, and accountability.
  • Act as the resident Brand Ambassador of the Chartwells team, attending key client and community events.
  • Ensure client needs are met or exceeded, retain the account, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and aid the rebid process per direction.
  • Support operational areas including safety, marketing, nutrition, and culinary.
  • Adhere to local, state, federal, and company policies; conduct unit audits for compliance on key areas such as food storage and sanitation.
  • Maintain compliance with USDA regulations for applicable meal and retail programs and complete required reporting on time.
  • Champion staff development through performance evaluations, succession planning, and a deep understanding of all operation roles.
  • Own financial results for the account, collaborating with leadership on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Apply consistent and fair administration of policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational minimum and work experience per USDA Professional Standards for the account(s).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of management experience, preferably in foodservice, hospitality management, or a related support services field.
  • Well‑versed in all aspects of foodservice management with a proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrated leadership of a business and a team, with strong customer service and financial acumen.
  • Strong initiative, critical thinking, ownership, and communication (listening, written, verbal) skills, along with multi‑tasking, prioritization, and organization.
  • Commitment to inclusion, positivity, professionalism, and resilience.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and POS software.

Travel

Occasional travel required.
