Residency Programs ManagerThe Dean's Office is the central administrative unit that provides leadership to Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Cummings School provides DVM, master's, and PhD degrees, and advanced clinical training programs. The Cummings School Veterinary Group (CSVG) is comprised of 7 teaching hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic laboratories. The CVSG supports the education and research missions of the school, as well as providing excellent patient care.
With an annual patient caseload of ~100,000, the CVSG serves clients from across New England and is the primary clinical training environment for veterinary students, interns, and residents.The Residency Programs Manager (RPM) provides centralized management and direction for residency training programs at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. The RPM serves as the main point of contact for programmatic support and coordination of Cummings School residency programs. The residency programs accommodate approximately 65 residents across five clinical and diagnostic units and three academic departments. The RPM will work collaboratively with the Residency Training Programs Oversight Committee.
The Residency Programs Director will report to the dean or associate dean for clinical affairs and work collaboratively with the hospital directors, the department chairs, and the resident training program directors. The RPM will be responsible for addressing program-level matters and ensuring that the overall programs remain in compliance with institutional and specialty college guidelines. They will organize and provide oversight of the academic program components that are developed and delivered by faculty. The RPM will directly support the residents and provide guidance on how to access appropriate resources, as required.Essential functions in this role will be:Management of the Residency Training ProgramsOversight of Academic Programming for ResidentsResident affairsFinancial ManagementWhat We're Looking For:Five+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial position in an academic, veterinary, or human medical setting, including people management.Must hold a relevant bachelor's degree.Demonstrated aptitude in decision-making and problem-solvingDemonstrated organizational and leadership abilitiesExcellent interpersonal skills, high degree of emotional intelligence, and ability to gain the confidence and trust of colleagues and subordinatesBasic proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong organizational and communication skills.
High degree of emotional intelligence.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those with experience working in or with an area related to veterinary medicine or another clinical environmentA Master's degree or higher is considered an asset.Advanced training in education or management is considered an advantageAbility to remain calm under pressureProfessional demeanor, discretion, and tactFlexibility with work schedule is needed, as occasional evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.Pay Range: Minimum $81,200.00, Midpoint $101,600.00, Maximum $120,900.00 Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
