A well-backed minerals and royalty investment platform, active across multiple US basins and currently investing out of its third equity commitment, is looking to add an Acquisitions Engineer to their Dallas-based team.
A front-line deal evaluation position sitting at the heart of an active acquisitions business. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating mineral and royalty acquisition opportunities from origination through close, building economic models, running sensitivities, and presenting deal recommendations to the investment committee. Approximately 20% of the role supports quarterly reserves updates and integration of new acquisitions into a 10,000+ well ComboCurve database.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate mineral and royalty acquisition opportunities across multiple US basins, including type curves, PDP modelling, and deal-level sensitivities on pricing, development timing, and spacing.
- Prepare investment materials and present data-driven deal recommendations to the investment committee.
- Collaborate with the land team on ownership, unit configurations, and NRI assumptions.
- Support quarterly reserves updates and integrate newly closed acquisitions into the corporate database.
Required skillset and experience:
- 3+ years of experience in acquisitions, reservoir engineering, or economic evaluation.
- Strong proficiency in ComboCurve and/or Aries.
- Working knowledge of Spotfire, Power BI, QGIS, or ArcGIS.
- Python, SQL, or git skills a strong plus.
- BS in Petroleum Engineering, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
