The Research Scientist is responsible for the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods supporting the quality evaluation of raw materials, in process materials and finished products. This role utilizes a range of analytical techniques - including HPLC, HPLC-MS, GC, GC-MS and UV-Vis to ensure methods are scientifically sound, compliant, and suitable for routine quality control use.
The position collaborates closely with Quality and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, reliable, and efficient analytical testing. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, validate, and transfer analytical methods for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Design and execute experiments to support method development and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and maintain method procedures, validation protocols, technical reports, and controlled documentation in compliance with quality systems.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to Quality and other cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot analytical methods, instrumentation, and software to ensure reliable and efficient performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field required: 3-4 years of relevant experience; Master's degree: 1-2 years of relevant experience; Ph.D.: Early career or limited experience acceptable
- Experience in analytical method development, validation, and troubleshooting
- Hand-on experience with chromatographic and analytical techniques, including HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, GC/GC-MS and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Working knowledge of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, statistical data interpretation, laboratory systems, and chromatographic software; Agilent OpenLab experience preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills; knowledge of botanical or natural products is preferred
