The Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an open-rank tenure‑track position applicant for Clinician Investigators and PhD Researchers.
Responsibilities
Persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50 % or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.
Requirements
- Clinician Investigators: MD or DO; completion of Internal Medicine or IM‑Peds Residency from an ACGME‑accredited program; board‑certified or eligible in Internal Medicine; fellowship training and/or a track record of independent funding.
- PhD Researchers: PhD in health services research, epidemiology, or a related field; at least three years of collaborative research experience in a post‑doctoral fellow and/or faculty position.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a primary‑care research fellowship, health services research fellowship, clinical scholars program, or similar. Ideal candidates would have an established record of publishing their research and obtaining funding, outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills, affinity for mentoring others, capacity to build and maintain productive collaborations, and ability to build and sustain an independent program of research.
