Position Summary
The University of Idaho seeks an exceptional candidate for an academic year tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on fish nutrition and commercial aquaculture production. The successful candidate will have access to the Aquaculture Research Institute (ARI) facilities in Moscow and the Hagerman Fish Culture Experiment Station, as well as equipment at the Bozeman Fish Technology Center through a cooperative agreement with the USDA/ARS Trout Feeds Program. These outstanding facilities create unique opportunities to participate in regional, national, and international aquaculture research. This position serves Idaho's aquaculture industry. Idaho is a leader in the national aquaculture industry, producing over 70% of the nation's commercially grown rainbow trout and supporting production of sturgeon, tilapia, catfish, ornamental species, and conservation hatcheries.
The faculty member will conduct and publish research in fish nutrition, secure external funding, mentor graduate students, and contribute to professional service and departmental activities in alignment with university and college expectations.
Teaching responsibilities include 3-6 credits per year at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, primarily in monogastric nutrition. The position also involves advising students and supervising staff and postdoctoral fellows within the department and ARI.
