Job Overview

A law firm seeks a renewable energy litigation associate for its Environmental Practice Group in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative and civil litigation, with a focus on energy law.

Duties

  • Engage in administrative and civil litigation related to energy law.
  • Provide regulatory counseling and transactional support under major environmental programs.
  • Represent clients before the Kentucky Public Service Commission and the Kentucky Electrical Generation and Transmission Siting Board.
  • Appeal adverse administrative decisions to Kentucky circuit courts and the Kentucky Court of Appeals.

Requirements

  • 2-6 years of substantive experience in administrative/civil litigation and energy law.
  • Experience with state or federal administrative law.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to support team members and pursue ongoing education.
  • Superior academic credentials.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Kentucky State Bar.
