Remote -Tax Manager

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Tax Manager, you will lead client tax engagements from start to finish, utilizing your prior technical experience to help clients navigate their tax compliance requirements while also leading the consulting and planning process. You will be responsible for managing client tax deadlines, filing requirements, and analyzing billing and collections related to each client engagement.

Coaching and mentoring junior associates are important in this role, as the growth of all team members is important to the growth of the practice. This role presents a unique opportunity for fast professional development, learning, and growth within a team-oriented group with limited travel expectations.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience at a public accounting firm, preferably with a Big 4, national, regional, or large local firm, serving business entities and their owners

• Consulting and compliance experience working with multi-state business entities

• Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

1 Complex partnership allocations, including those related to:

Preferred returns, carried interests, or similar waterfall scenarios

704(c) property

704(b) revaluation adjustments

754 elections and related 734 and 743 basis adjustments

2 Real estate industry issues, including like-kind exchanges and other gain deferral strategies

3 Investment fund partnerships

4 Business acquisitions and sales

5 FASB ASC 740

6 U.S. tax aspects of doing business internationally

• CPA certification

• Excellent research skills

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent technology, project management, and presentation skills

• A strong commitment to delivering exceptional client service, with the drive to continually deepen expertise

• Strong preference for local candidates who value in-person collaboration

• Advanced degree in taxation preferred
