Focusing on the development of Orthomosaic Tile products for wildfire detection and environmental monitoring, the full-time Remote Sensing Data Scientist will work remotely to research, design, and implement algorithms for image processing while engaging with stakeholders and writing production-ready code. Key responsibilities Develop imaging products for end-users from infrared imaging missions, including the FireSat and Space-Based Environmental Monitoring programs Research, design, and implement scalable algorithms for image mosaicking, orthorectification, and radiometric normalization Serve as the product owner for customer-facing imagery products and maintain technical documentation aligned with stakeholder requirements Required qualifications PhD with 3+ years of industry experience; or MS with 6+ years of industry experience; or BS with 8+ years of industry experience 5+ years of experience building geospatial data products from remote sensing data Hands-on experience with image mosaicking, orthorectification, or related geospatial image processing techniques Exceptional skills in Python-based development and analysis Ability to work collaboratively with a distributed, interdisciplinary team
