A growing public accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join its fully remote tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who enjoys leading client engagements, mentoring staff, and providing strategic tax planning to a diverse portfolio of middle-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Responsibilities

  • Manage and review a variety of tax engagements, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, LLCs, trusts, estates, and individual returns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, delivering proactive tax planning, consulting, and year-round advisory services.
  • Review complex tax returns and research federal, state, and local tax matters to develop practical client solutions.
  • Oversee engagement planning, staffing, budgeting, and project timelines to ensure quality deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Senior Associates and Associates through coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand services and deliver additional value.
  • Collaborate with partners and other service lines to provide comprehensive solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Stay current on changing tax laws and communicate relevant updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Contribute to process improvements, practice initiatives, and the continued growth of the tax department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities.
  • Experience supervising and developing junior staff.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience serving closely held businesses, middle-market companies, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Background in tax planning, consulting, and advisory services.
  • Familiarity with tax research software and cloud-based tax preparation platforms.
  • Passion for mentoring others and helping build a collaborative, high-performing remote team.
