The Capital Marketplace vertical is the fuel that powers Upstart’s AI based lending operations. Spread across multiple dynamic high performance teams; The White Label Platform team owns the end to end white label offering at Upstart. The team’s mission is to make White Label offering increasingly configuration-driven and reusable, where onboarding new partners becomes more about enabling capabilities than building net-new flows every time. As the Senior Software Engineer at Upstart, you will contribute to shape up the platform, collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams such as Product, Pricing, Analytics, Lending Partnerships, and Capital Marketplace on a wide range of projects that grow your skills in full stack development, cloud platforms, and financial systems.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver projects that align with business goals
Ensure security, performance, and availability of our critical platforms
Participate in code reviews, testing, and the deployment of high-quality code
5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on full-stack development, distributed systems, and APIs
Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs, services, and UIs that enable partners to access performance data, operational workflows, and program controls.
Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, React, Next.js, Vercel, Python
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deploying applications in a cloud native environment
Experience with microservices architecture and real-time data processing pipelines (Kafka, Spark, or similar)
Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and data warehousing solutions
Experience with building robust platform
Experience in capital markets, financial services, or a related industry, with a strong understanding of market structures and regulations

#Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
