Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Java

Salary: $65,000 - 105,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a candidate with a bachelors degree.
• We need at least 5 years of Java development and backend engineering experience, ideally 7–10+ years.
• Experience in ecommerce is a strong advantage.
• You must be highly proficient in Java and have worked with at least one additional backend and one frontend language.
• Experience modernizing legacy codebases is required.
• Automated testing experience is expected.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture is important.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential, as collaboration is a key part of the role.

• We act as the internal backend architecture expert and help define engineering standards.
• We improve software quality by refactoring and reshaping legacy areas.
• We take ownership of reliability and performance by identifying bugs and issues and improving the user experience.
• We mentor junior engineers by leading through example and sharing best practices.
• We collaborate with product, design, and other teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and successfully delivered.
• We work closely with team members on code reviews and shared problem-solving across multiple time zones.
• We communicate clearly and concisely in a fully remote environment.
