To support Patient Access Services, the full-time Remote Patient Access Authorization Representative will perform insurance verification and authorization functions, ensuring compliance with department standards while working independently in a remote environment. Key responsibilities: Accurately complete authorization initiation requests and validate existing authorizations for all service lines Provide necessary authorization numbers and patient demographic information to staff, while documenting all referral activity Obtain authorizations for tests and procedures, staying current on payor requirements and utilizing third-party authorization submission software Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required A minimum of three years of experience in healthcare insurance and/or authorizations Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD codes Advanced abilities in common office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
