Reliability Specialist

The Reliability Specialist provides technical expertise and support to the maintenance department for production equipment and systems. Job duties include:

  • Identifying failures/impacts to prioritize reliability activities addressing financials and efficiencies.
  • Providing engineering know-how to successfully support plant equipment reliability and the scoping/execution of maintenance projects.
  • Analyzing equipment failure data to identify root causes/patterns/trends and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Providing support and equipment consultations on Capital Project installations.
  • Documenting design improvements via CAD, updating of Operational & Maintenance Procedures and recommending tools.
  • Collaborating with Operations, Maintenance and other Plant personnel to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Performing and documenting Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Leading and training Maintenance Team members in RCFA methodology.
  • Designing & implementing Maintenance procedures to address equipment deficiencies and improve equipment performance/reliability.
  • Working closely with both operations and maintenance in the development of long-term equipment maintenance strategies and operator basic care (OBC) as well as support troubleshooting efforts through formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree is Required
  • Minimum 4 Years Plant Reliability Experience
  • Knowledge of RCM, Asset Criticality Assessment, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience In Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) / Operator Assisted Maintenance (OAM) at manufacturing plants.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders gaining access to equipment platforms.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance technologies: including vibration, thermography, ultrasonic, and NDT technologies
  • Must be self-motivated to drive change
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Maintain and track maintenance KPI's related to Reliability
  • Audits Maintenance procedures and plant repair behavior
  • Strong analytical & problem solving tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment
  • Experience with P&ID, Equipment Layout Drawings, design optimization & troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks
