Support the Operations and Maintenance departments and drive continuous improvements in process and asset reliability.
Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs to identify failures and eliminate defects.
Identify trends in equipment performance that will drive improved reliability.
Develop KPIs to measure improvements (Asset Utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), On-Stream Time (OST).
Develop Equipment Maintenance Strategies based on review of equipment failure data (Root Cause Analysis and OEE).
Ensure Company’s Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program meets federal and state requirements and is being properly executed.
Develop a comprehensive Spare Parts Strategy and develop Bill of Materials for new spare parts.
Provide technical input into capital projects, including the maintenance portion of the equipment care program.
During equipment failures, support Operations and Maintenance troubleshoot failures.
Focus on Company’s longer-term strategic asset reliability improvements for West Coast facilities and across the Company as needed.
During Project Management work, closely follow jobs to ensure that repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc. are documented.
Visible field presence during planned Turnarounds - performing field inspections and collecting equipment data.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
3+ years of relevant maintenance and reliability experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or refinery environment
West Coast travel, 30%-50%
Preferred:
Mechanical Engineer
Knowledge of API and ASME Codes, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
