We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our chemical manufacturing operations team as an individual contributor. This new role is focused on driving long-term asset reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and strengthening equipment performance across a complex, continuous or batch chemical production environment. The schedule for this role will typically be Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week with flexibility for off-shift hours as business needs require. This position will work onsite, there is no remote work option for this role. There is no travel required for this role.
A key priority of this position is the leadership and execution of a 3-year reliability improvement plan, aimed at improving asset integrity, optimizing maintenance strategies, and building a sustainable reliability culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead execution of a 3-year reliability improvement strategy for plant-wide assets and system.
- Identify and eliminate chronic equipment failures using structured reliability tools (RCFA, FMEA, Weibull analysis, etc.).
- Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical chemical process equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance data and reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, etc.).
- Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to improve equipment uptime and process stability.
- Support root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Evaluate and improve reliability of rotating and fixed equipment including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, and piping system.
- Support turnaround and outage planning with reliability-focused improvement.
- Develop and maintain asset strategies and life‑cycle management plan.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements in all reliability efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of reliability focused engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or heavy process industry.
- Strong understanding of equipment reliability principles in process manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on experience with maintenance systems and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification strongly preferred.
- Experience developing or executing site‑wide reliability improvement programs.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability data analysis.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
- Experience in continuous or batch chemical processing environments.
